CCD Linear Sensors

SONY offers some linear sensors for various applications:

  • Very light sensitive sensors with rectangle pixels for applications with barcode readers or spectroscopic systems.
  • Sensors with square pixels for document scanner, fax devices or other applications, in which objects are to be scanned optically.

For very short integration times (some microseconds), there are also some sensors with electronic shutters available.

You can find closer information about the UV types at our page about UV coating.

For some of the listed sensors on this page we can supply also an USB camera board.

Tested refurbs ILX511

We still receive many requests for the obsolete type ILX511. This sensor provided an excellent signal quality and was so suitable for even high-performance applications. Due to this fact we have decided to offer a special service:

There are still many resoldered ILX511 sensors available (e.g. parts from manufactured pcbs, which were then never used). EURECA now offers such sensors for sale. Each sensor is tested seperately for its correct electro-optical function, so that only sensors are sold which are full working. If you have interest in such sensors, please contact us and ask for "ILX511-TR" (TR = tested refurb).

Colour Linear Sensors

A colour sensor provides three or six complete monochrome CCD lines in one housing, which are arranged parallel to each other in a short distance. Each line is covered with a dichroitic filter for one of the three basic colours red, green and blue.

The data rate indicates, with which rate the analogue sensor signal can be read out.

The sensitivity of a CCD sensor indicates, which output in volts is produced by a pixel after an exposure duration of one second with a light density of one lux. Apart from the pixel area, this value also depends on the internal amplification of the output drivers.

The dynamic value contains a reference to the resolution that can be expected after a conversion of the output signal with an analogue/digital converter.

The line length indicates the length of the photo-sensitive CCD lines of the sensor (number of pixels × pixel length), not the mechanical length of the sensor housing.

The linear sensors can also be delivered without glass cover. This is e.g. necessary, when filters or fiber optics are to be put onto the sensor.
